AGARTALA, Nov 18 (TIWN): A violent teen led his mother to be hospitalized with broken bones after he beat up her brutally. Gaura Das (13) quit his studies long ago and has been disobedient to his parents. His father is a hardworking man, who stays outside the home most of the time due to his driving profession yesterday an argument erupted between his wife and his son in his absence and the son Gaura Das beat up his mother brutally.
Police detained the minor and took them to Amtali PS.
Talking to his grandmother, she said, there was none else who could do this, so it’s only her grandson who might done it.
The violence among teenage in the age of digitization is alarming.
A survey was done by UNICEF where a review was published in 2018 saying, “The review concludes that globally over half of children aged 2-17 have experienced violence and that minimum estimates suggest past-year physical, sexual or emotional violence against children of 50% or more of children in Asia, Africa, and Northern America.”
“…………emotional violence remains relatively constant over age group (at about 60%-70%), levels of past-month physical violence appear to decline slowly as age increases. While at age 2 about 60%-70% of boys and girls experience physical violence from a caregiver or household member, this has decreased to about 40%–50% at age 14,” the report further stated.
