Tripura Court Punished Drug Peddlers with 12-Year Imprisonment

AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): In a landmark verdict, Tripura court has sent two drug dealers to suffer 12 years jail.
On June 4, 2023, Madhupur police searched a lorry and seized a large quantity of cough syrup.
Two accused named Ankuj Shukla and Rajendra Singh were arrested.
On Thursday, Bishalgarh court sentenced the two accused to 12 years rigorous imprisonment. Along with a fine of one lakh rupees and in default of payment one more year imprisonment was ordered, said lawyer Gautam Giri.
