AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): For over a month Tripura degree college students were protesting on the road after mass-fails. Today, the High Education Department organized a press meet and announced that all the students who failed in the semesters will be promoted to the next semesters. Education Director Animesh Debbarma informed that a total of around 8,000 students will benefit from that.
Tripura University declared results for Science and Commerce on 2nd August and Arts on 30th August and maximum students failed in exams.
After several rounds of discussions, 80% of students from the commerce stream students were moved to the second semester, 61% from Arts, and 81% from Science.
79.25% percent overall were allowed to move to the second semester including the students who were absent in tests due to illness.
However, 50% of the credit has to be maintained during all semesters from the first to the fifth semester.
“I hope students take the benefits of this decision and study well….” Said the Director.
