AGARTALA, Sep 20 (TIWN): After Congress party MLA Sudip Barman exposed Bikash Debbarma’s assets in the Assembly, he received a fresh notice to vacate the old MLA building, where he has been living for decades. Amid Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma’s MLA post being put at risk after he was found faking ECI documentation in financial assets, BJP Govt yet to deliver any comment on this issue. Bikash Debbarma, who is Tribal Welfare Minister was found engaged in massive corruption like using Tribal Welfare Dept funds for his boundary wall construction.
There was also an abnormal growth of Bikash Debbarma’s property within one and a half years, enabling him to purchase flats, construct new homes, renovate existing homes, and gain new wealth. Congress MLA Sudip Barman raised the question in the Assembly, how can a person gain that much wealth within such a short period?
After the question was raised in the Assembly, Bikash Debbarma was called for a press meet and said, he is not a poor person. He is a son of ‘Zameendar’ (Landlord).
His statement contradicted his Election affidavit where he wrote, he and his wife both have zero-earning.
Congress demanded the termination of Bikash Debbarma from the Assembly and the sacking of his MLA post for submitting fake documents of ‘zero’ earnings in his ECI affidavit while filing a nomination for 2023 poll.
Congress leaders met Governor Indra Sena Nallu with this mismatched property of the Minister with the claimed and the submitted data.
Congress has requested the Governor to take action. Simultaneously, Congress also complained to ECI about this matter.
Day after Congress complained to Governor, the notice was issued by Tripura Assembly Secretary S.K. Majumder. Check the notice here : https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1075043954625223&set=a.490161779780113
