AGARTALA, Sep 10 (TIWN): Three BJP youth activists in Tripura have been sent to judicial custody for 9 days, permitting police to interrogate them. Saurabh Bhattacharjee, Sukanta Debnath, and Akash Banik attacked a TV channel journalist Prasenjit Chakraborty at around night 1.30 pm when Prasenjit along with his colleagues were on duty in the capital city. When tried to save Prasenjit, more numbers of journalists who came forward to save him, were also injured. Police arrested three BJP workers and sought police remand. Chief Judicial Magistrate has sent three of the accused persons for jail custody and allowed police to interrogate them time to time.
Reacting over the incident CM Dr. Manik Saha said, “As soon I was informed, I ordered police to take stern action. Whoever it is, no hooligans will be tolerated in this state.”
Our government’s vision is clear, and without taking any side of the party or identity, the law will act in its own way.
However, CM blamed the 35 years of communist rule behind such a violent culture, which has entered in the DNA of people.
