The incident happened in Khowai, after fish distribution was considered only for two persons.

The injured person, whose head was covered with bandage said, “I was informed by the Mandal president that small fish will be distributed for farming. Accordingly, I went to the place but the councilor started arguing that only two persons can be beneficiaries now.”

“Centering this argument, the councilor slapped me. When I tried to slap him back, he hit me with an object there,” he said.

An FIR will be lodged against the councilor, said the injured person.
