In protest, the workers blocked the Khowai-Agartala main road, which caused a massive traffic jam there.

The blockade was held in Baijalbari’s Belangfa area. A total 56 Anganwadi project workers joined the protest to raise their voices collaboratively.

The blockade started at 8 O’Clock in the morning and continued for hours.

According to the agitators, the government is least bothered about their pleas amid repeated appeals since the Supreme Court ordered the government to clear gratuities, giving pension, regularization etc.

The workers said, if their demands are not fulfilled, they will go on protest for an uncertain period of time.
