SABROOM (South Tripura), Sep 8 (TIWN): Visiting South Tripura District, the leader of the opposition Jitendra Chowdhury proposed to the government through media to take the initiative to fix the Feni river dam which was affected due to the flood that hit Tripura recently. It’s not about Satchand block but also about the overall South Tripura which is the agricultural landmark for the state. If it can not saved, then it would cause loss to the entire state.
Jiten Chowdhury talked to the local people and asked them to raise their voices for their rights because, the dam was constructed almost 50 years and it needs to be fixed.
Chowdhury said he would raise the issue before the government also.
Tripura was recently hit by flood and many areas are still water-logged. Agriculture was totally damaged causing heavy loss to the farmers.
In a separate program, CM Dr. Manik Saha said, Tripura would to over 3 years to overcome the situation.
