SONAMURA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Local people in Sonamura slammed the Electric Department for its negligence after a cattle died miserably due to the department's negligence.

The incident happened in Sonamura Nagar Panchayat area’s Dhaliai BOC area after an electric wire that fell over a water-logged area electrocuted a cattle. The cattle owner Moklesh Ali was wearing a plastic booth and thus luckily saved.

Locals said they complained to the electric department various times about the matter but the issue remained unsolved forcing the public to protest against the negligence role of the department after this incident happened which has caused heavy loss to the farmer.

“Recently Ananda Mela was organized in this area, and if something happened, who would have taken the responsibility?” asked an agitating local.

Later, electric department officials reached the spot and fixed the issues.
