AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): NSUI staged a protest against IIIT student Abhijit Pandey’s death.
Following the death of the student and NSUI’s protest, the NIT authority assured them that an inquiry would be done into this case. NSUI said, if the inquiry is not held fairly a larger protest will be organized on the campus.
Students alleged there was a “gross mistreatment” at the NIT Agartala hospital. This was not just a loss that resulted in the death of the student.
According to NIT students when Abhijit was suffering from heavy pain, no vehicle was ambulance was provided for him amid the claims of 24X7 services by ambulance.
When taken to hospital, the doctors just gave him Volini spray and declared he was out of danger, whereas Abhijit was constantly complaining about extreme pains that he was going through.
So, basically due to lack of proper treatment the student died. Protesting against his death, students gheraoed the authority seeking justice for Abhijit.
