CHURAIBARI, Aug 1 (TIWN): Daring robbery in Churabari raised question over the law and order situation there. A group of robbers looted jewelry, mobile and cash from a women. A similar incident happened in the same area before few days.
This time, the victim woman was hit with a sharp weapon. The incident took place around 1:30 am in the night in Churaibari village panchayat area under Churaibari police station in North Tripura district.
The house owner Abdul Rahim (35) said he is a lorry driver by profession. He was not at home that night. Taking advantage of that opportunity, a group of five or six robbers entered his house by breaking the back door of the house. At that time, his wife and two children were sleeping in that room. One of the robbers entered the house and the rest kept watch outside. The robber who entered the house held a sharp knife around his wife's neck and asked her to give the key to the almirah and to remove all the jewelry she was wearing around her nose, ears and neck. The member of the bandit threatened to kill her if she screams.
Later, information was given to Churaibari police station. The police came and started to investigate the incident. A complaint was reported to the police in written form.
Around Rs. 3 lakhs of cashes were taken away from the home along with gold ornaments.
