AGARTALA, July 28 (TIWN): Border security continues to remain in question mark with more 23 Bangladeshi civilians arrested by Agartala Railway police from Agartala Railway station. The illegally entered Bangladeshi citizens were caught yesterday evening, said Agartala Railway police station OC-Tapas Das.
Talking to the media, Das said, “At around 2 O’Clock police were informed through a secret source about huge numbers of Bangladeshis’ illegal intrusion. Based on the information, police personnel reached the spot and detained these people out of suspicion. All of them were on their way to Chennai."
Tapas Das further informed that under the BNS new laws, the Foreigner Act and Indian Passport Act, appropriate steps are to be taken.
