AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): With the ongoing issues in neighboring Bangladesh, the Hilsa fish which are mostly imported from Bangladesh have skyrocketed.
Question prevails over the excuses shown by the businessmen regarding the increased prices, as there must be stocks for Hilsa that are kept frozen for months.
On the other hand, Bangladesh is not only the source of importing Hilsa to Tripura.
“Due to Bangladesh situations, fish imports are disrupted and that’s why I purchased the Hilsas at 1600 rupees per kg,” said a fish seller who was selling Hisla fish at Rs. 1700 per kg in a local market.
