Agartala, Feb 3 (TIWN):With an effort to connect the picturesque surrounding covered with hills and dales, sprawling green valleys and hilly brooks of Tripura with the world, National School of Drama’s flagship annual International Theatre Festival- 17th Bharat Rang Mahotsav in collaboration with Tripura Government is travelling to Agartala from February 04 to 09 at Agartala Town Hall.
Addressing a press conference, Ratan Thiyam, Chairman, National School Drama said that since the inception of Bharat Rang Mahotsav in 1999 had travelled lot of cities with selected plays and this year the festival will also travel to various parts of the country apart from Agartala.
The plays that will performed include – The Nude, directed by Baharul Islam (Assam) - Kurbani, directed by Soumtira Chatterjee (Bengali) - Play It So, 17 Dances About Something, directed by Michal Jankowski (Poland) – Khata, directed by Rashree Shirke (Maharashtra) – Postal Delivery to God, directed by Ruthie & Osterman & Amit Zarka ( Israel).
The theatre festival will be inaugurated tomorrow at Agartala Town Hall at 6PM followed by a performance of ‘The Nude’ in Assamese
