AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M party’s farmers’ wing leader Pabitra Kar on Friday said, they won’t believe in BJP Govt’s any promise unless it becomes reality. Kar said, when majority of the farmers have been facing devastating losses due to weather issues, the government is least bothered to compensate them and now before Panchayat poll it had announced that 81,000 farmers will be compensated which is just a vote bank politics. Kar referred, various times the government promised the same and did not keep its promise.
“The timeline for the compensation has been set on July 4 which means it would consume the Panchayat poll time,” he said.
To assert on this point further, Kar alleged, even after crossing of a year since the Kumarghat Rath-Jatra tragedy was held no help was provided by the government even though chief minister himself promised to provide them government jobs.
“Farmers are facing heavy losses and they lost the crops. That is the reason why vegetables from other states are coming skyrocketing the market prices of the vegetables,” added Kar.
