AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Countering CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury’s allegation of unconstitutional holding of Mayor post by Dipak Majumder when he already took oath as an MLA, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said holding both constitutional position by a single person is not unconstitutional.
According to Sushanta Chowdhury as nowhere in Municipality law it's written that a person can not be an MLA when having a post under Municipality, so Dipak Majumder has right to hold both posts.
The political allegation's reply from Sushanta Chowdhury came when government officers were seated beside him at the Secretariat.
“Fault-finders will find fault in paradise also and so as Jitendra Chowdhury. They have warned to go to court. Of course they can go to High Court, Supreme Court and even international court but Dipak Majumder has not has anything wrong,” said Chowdhury.
