AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): In a rare and deadly inborn disease, a newborn baby was about to die but was saved by Tripura Medical College (TMC) hospital team, the hospital informed on Saturday. The baby boy was born on May 8 after he was referred from IGM hospital to the TMC hospital. He was taken first to Melaghar hospital as since his birth he could not eat anything and continued vomiting green colour substances. From there, he was referred to IGM. After observation at IGM for three days, the baby was referred to TMC hospital.
When the baby was 12 days old, the hospital completed the operation successfully.
Talking to Dr Anirudhha Basak, a pediatric sergeant, superspecialist, he said, the baby’s few inside body parts as veins were not in place and through operation they were placed correctly. If the operation was not done at the correct time, it should have died of infection.
Right now the baby is stable and recovering. It is expected that after 3 to 4 days, the baby can be taken to home.
