AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): Bharat Ratna Club Secretary Durga Prasanna Deb died of a gunshot at Salbagan, Agartala. Police arrested four persons so far and interrogating many other suspects. During the interrogation, a person named Babul Datta committed suicide after allegedly police interrogated him and seized his cell phone. According to family members, police came in civil dress again on Monday and arrested Susmita Sarkar's family members were with them. However, doubt remains over the statements. Also, it's suspicious whether police personnel actually visited their home with accused family members. Babul Datta was the father of one of the arrested accused Susmita Sarkar’s boyfriend.

Talking to Babul Datta’s daughter, she told the media, “Police took my father’s phone two days after the incident but then on Monday Susmita’s mother and her sister came to our home. Two persons were accompanying them and claimed they were police from Usha Bazar. When we asked them for proof of being police, they left the home but since then, my father has been feeling not well and unexpectedly he has poisoned himself. He could not survive and died today in GB.”
