AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): Goddess Durga idols were immersed across Tripura at the Dashami Ghaats (immersion banks) marking the last day for Bijoya Dashami.
To mark this occasion, devotees gathered at Dashi Ghaats across the state to bid farewell to Goddess Durga.
People from different communities thronged Durga puja pandals to offer their tributes to the goddess on the last day of the five-day-long festivity.
A vast number of married women decked in the ritualistic red-and-white sarees marked the event with the customary "Sindoor Khela" or smearing each other and the idols with red vermilion to prepare the goddess and her clan for their long journey to home, as dhaaks (traditional drums) played on in the background.
