AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Centering the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tripura for East-Tripura and West-Tripura constituencies, 20,000 security personnel were deployed.
West Tripura election will be held on April 19 whereas the East Tripura election will be held on April 26. By-poll for 7-Ramnagar also will take place on April 19, the same day when West Tripura Lok Sabha poll will happen.
Reportedly, 84 companies of CAPF are already deployed in the state.
10,000 Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans are also in the duty during poll days.
Recently DGP Amitabh Ranjan however recently in a speech said that police have to work very keenly and engineering methods need to be applied to prevent violence and untoward incidents.
Tripura CEO Punit Agarwal said, the election department is targeting to make a total violence free poll in state.
