AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar slammed Modi Govt over the record-breaking unemployment rate in India under Modi Govt. Sarkar said, “According to reports, in the last 50 years, such an employment rate was not experienced in India as the unemployment rate of now. What happened to your promise given before 2014 poll about 2 crore jobs per year? According to the promise, at least 20 crores of jobs should have been given under this Govt in the last 10 years, but instead of jobs, now the regular job opportunities have been squashed and all jobs are given contract basis, as if someone is buying tea in a shop and then paying off, throwing the cup.”
“In 2019 lok Sabha poll, BJP came to power without fulfilling promises given to people in 2014. People did not care about the 2019 promises as the party did not keep its promise of 2014. Now, Prime Minister is saying, Govt has been planning for 2027’s India’s face marking 100 years of the independence of India. So what would you do in this 23 years ?” asked Manik Sarkar.
Manik Sarkar was addressing a rally in Natun Nagar, Agartala in Lok Sabha poll rally. Lok Sabha poll for the West Tripura constituency will be conducted on April 19.
