AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Tripura former deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarman on Tuesday addressing the Book Fair closing ceremony advised people to develop the habit of reading.
“Tripura book fair is always popular. Even though conventional book sales were reduced still people read books a lot even today. Writers still write books, but some people are losing interest and that’s why they do not enter the book stalls and they just visit the book fair for enjoyment. So it’s important to develop the good habits,” said Jishnu Debbarman.
“People listen to audiobooks, digital books but we have to pay respect to the conventional books. This is our tradition. Earlier, people used to gift books in marriages but that tradition is lost today. We need to restore that culture,” said the former deputy CM.
