AGARTALA, Feb 29 (TIWN): A housewife Rani Banik has committed suicide due to constant torture by her husband.

On 29th January she was beaten up by her husband Anjan Das. She was injured on her head and now undergoing treatment.

But police did not arrest the accused.

At the same time, Anjan Das continued to torture his wife mentally and physically. Today she committed suicide to get relief from the continuous harassment by her husband.

Accused Anjan Das is now absconding.
