AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Manoj Kanti Deb, a BJP MLA, who served as cabinet minister in the first BJP Govt’s tenure in Tripura, charged BJP Govt and his town Kamalpur police for failure to control the law and order there. Deb alleged that due to the increasing number of theft cases people are always worried and insecure. He said, the root cause of such rising theft and robbery cases is ‘Drug’! “Today at every corner of the state, drug peddling going on and the drug-addicted people, who need money for drugs are organizing theft incidents. Everyday through media, we come to know how much such crimes have spiked up,” said Manoj Kanti Deb. Manoj Kanti Deb was the Minister of Food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, and also held the Urban Development.
The former Minister placed a deputation to the police department in Kamalpur.
“Police must identify the drug sellers and who are running the network,” said the MLA after talking to Kamalpur PS OC.
