AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Railway police arrested three suspected persons during a routine checkup at Agartala Railway station with Rs. 9.65 lakhs of cash amounts. After inquiry, it has been known that three of them are from Maharashtra and came to Tripura a few days back. They boarded the Kanchenjunga express and were on the way to Shealdah, in Kolkata, West Bengal. After interrogating them, police would handover them over to the Income Tax department.
“The Kanchenjunga express was on regular schedule to leave from Agartala Railway station to Sealdah at 8.15 AM. During regular checking by Railway police and GRP caught three persons : Suder Mohammud, Krishna, Sima Sindhe. When we checked them out of suspect, Rs. 9.65 lakh was seized from them. We will hand over them to Income Tax department,” said railway police.
