AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday launched Chief Minister Jana Arogya Yojona at Netaji Subash Vidyaniketan ground, Agartala with a target to cover 4.15 lakh of people who were left out of central-run Ayushman Bharat scheme. Addressing the occasion, CM said, “We know when we started this project, we might face certain problems. But we if work together, then we can pass the obstacles. People feel helpless when they are hospitalized. On the one hand, the disease causes frustration and on the other hand financial stress causes more worries. Keeping such things in mind, PM Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat which has benefited 6.2 crores patients. In Tripura also 5.12 lakhs people have received the benefit of Ayushman Bharat.”
“So many people meet me with their problems and maximum of them are suffering due to medical costs. Sometimes, I try to help them from CM relief fund but 100% help could not be done. Then I talked to the Finance Minister and we decided we have to do something,” said CM.
“After a series of meetings and discussions to help the 4.15 lakh left-out people of the Ayushman Bharat project, we talked to the center and then the decision was taken that a parallel scheme of Ayushman Bharat will be launched named Chief Minister Jana Arogya Yojona,” said CM.
CM Manik Saha thanked Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy for making the effort to launch this project with proper planning and constant follow-up of issues.
