AGARTALA, Feb 14 (TIWN): Agartala Art College students organized Sarwasti puja like any other educational institution. But recently centering the Goddess Saraswati idol, on social media, controversy erupted. The statue was displaying nudity and gave cultural shocks to public. Protesting against the idol, Bajrang Dal rushed to the college and forced the students to cover the Saraswati idol. Now only ‘Ghot Puja’ is allowed. During the covering of Saraswati idol, the Bajrang Dal raised ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan, saying, they won’t allow such nudity of Goddess in the Ram Rajya.
Later, without the idol, the puja was held.
Reacting to the controversial Goddess Saraswati idol, Art College in Lichu Bagan, Bajrang Dal held a protest.
This year, the idol created controversy because the Goddess was shown not in fully covered attire. On social media, public condemned the taste of the artists.
Bajrang Dal members visited the college and talked to the authorities. ABVP members also visited the college first and they covered it with a cloth, but later Bajrang Dal fully covered it.
