AGARTALA, Feb 13 (TIWN): Reacting to the strike held by students’ body, Tripura BJP has said, some people tried to politicalize the issue and it should not be.
“TBSE is an autonomous body and Govt has no control. TBSE takes its own decision. This is the first time, CBSE is taking Kokborok exam and that’s why the problem. But our CM has taken the decision to resolve the issue,” said BJP at Krishna Nagar party office.
He also asked people to fact-check how many students use Roman as Kokborok script.
“Our CM is liberal and he wants everyone should live in harmony. The way, some predicted that Bengali script is imposed on people, it’s wrong thinking. Either Roman or Bengali, no script should be politicalized,” he said.
The statement came after a strike was held by various parties student wings and student bodies against prohibition of Roman script for Kokborok exams. Later Tripura Govt accepted that TBSE would allow Roman script along with Bengali for Kokborok language exams.
