AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): In a shocking incident, a police official has allegedly remarked agitating students as ‘Ugroponthi’ (extremist) after the TSF activists gheraoed CM’s residence today protesting against the restriction of Roman script for Kokbork language in TBSE exams.
“I have talked to DGP and sought immediate action against the police official after I saw the footage,” said Animesh Debbarma, leader of the opposition and an MLA of Tipra Motha party.
“DGP has said, he would look into the matter,” added Animesh Debbarma.
(TIWN has received footage where the word 'Ugroponthi' echoed when police were arresting the protesters. However, no police official could be identified categorically) Facebook Video Link : https://www.facebook.com/reel/1327462728647921
Debbarma said, there is no connection between TBSE and CBSE. So TBSE’s attempt to stretch CBSE’s name for not permitting Kokborok script is bizarre.
