The accused has been taken to 3 days police custody.

Biplab Deb’s sister Mithu Deb alleged that her husband Shibu Ain tried to kill her and her minor daughter on the night of January 24.

On being asked, accused Shibu Ain said, “There was a fight between us. I took the chopper in hand but hit her slightly by mistake. The injury was minor, but she has filed an attempt to murder case against me”.

FIR was lodged in Kakraban police station with case number 7/2024. Charges filed against Shibu Ain under section 498/325/307 of the Indian Penal Code for domestic violence.

The victim accused her husband of always pressuring her to bring cash from the former chief minister since he became CM in 2018.

Shibu Ain has been taken into police custody for three days.
