AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): Former chief minister of Tripura Biplab Deb, who faced massive criticism for lawlessness situation in the state during his regime from 2018 to 2022, amid extreme attacks on press, now has come to sympathized Govt’s critics saying, criticism of a Govt can not be a criticism of a nation. Biplab Deb was sacked from CM post in May 2022 amid many allegation of corruption and failure to control law and order and rise of criminalization in politics. He was given the post of Rajya Sabha MP. On Monday, after reaching Tripura, Biplab Deb organized a press meet praising Union Home Minister Amit Shah for deciding to introduce new bills and modifying British eras many laws.
Criticising Congress, Deb said, “Such laws could be modified by Congress also but they did not do that even after ruling for a long time”.
“British made laws to control the people. They introduced laws of anti-nationalism to punish our freedom fighters but today such dictator regime can’t be continued with the modified laws introduced by the BJP led Central Govt. Congress never did that because they also wanted to stay in power but using such British laws”, Biplab Deb told media
