AGARTALA, Dec 5 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers on Tuesday organized a meeting in Agartala Rabindra Bhawan to take a decision on what would be their next step. Talking to the media, a terminated teacher named Santanu Bhattacharjee said, “The 10323 teachers’ issue has been going on since 2014 but till now, we are not satisfied with the legal procedures. For the last few years, a case has been going on in the court, Pranab Deb vs. Tripura Govt and others. Advocate Amrit Lal Saha appeared on our behalf in the Court but the questions that we raised before the court, till now no satisfactory answer we have received over it. It is very important that the ultimate verdict that was given by the High Court which could not satisfy us, and that needs to be challenged in the Supreme Court."
“People who believe in the rule of law will join us. Advocate Amrit Lal Saha will fight the case on our behalf”, said Bhattacharjee.
“Our jobs were never gone. Our demand is our termination letter. Under 311(2) rule, a Govt employee deserves a termination letter when terminated. But we did not get such a termination letter. Do we live in an independent country, where procedural demand has no value? That’s why we have gathered in this meeting. Our chief guest is Advocate Amrit Lal Saha”, said Bhattacharjee.
“We do not get BPL cards as the record says that we are Govt employees. We are not getting employment exchange cards. In which country we are living where we cast vote but can’t raise our fundamental rights ?”, he asked.
