AGARTALA, Dec 1 (TIWN): East Agartala Police successfully caught many thieves in connection to the theft incidents in the city and recovered many stolen gold ornaments and other machinery items. In a press meet, Police said since the arrests of the gang, the Agartala city has not witnessed a single theft incident. On 29th November total of three thieves were arrested with gold and cash named : Jhulan Mia, Sujit Das, Antar Debbarma. After interrogating them, more thieves were arrested with laptop, gold and cash. Police said, that if any further gang member's name comes out, immediately police would arrest the accused but so far police could successfully nab everyone connection to the racket.
The arrested persons are : Akash Dey, resident of Rishi Colony, Bapan Debnath, resident of Tulakona, Diptanu Saha, resident of Mahesh Khala and Tutan Barman, resident of Melaghar.
Many items in connection to recent theft incidents were recovered. The recent theft incidents happened on Nov 9 at Sagarika Chakraborty‘s home at Adarsha Colony, on 23rd November at Tanmay Das’s home in Dhaleswar, and in Upachanda’s home on 15th November at Shib Nagar.
Police said, since the arrest of the gang mebers, theft incidents have drastically decreased in the Agartala city. The investigation is still underway.
