AGARTALA, Nov 26 (TIWN): Like various other political parties, People’s party also hammered on the Janajati Suraksha Macha’s demand of removing ST people from ST status if they change their religion.

“We think, such comments are discriminatory, fuelled by politics of division”, said a People’s party leader.

“It’s backed by RSS and their fundamentals. We condemn it”, he said.

“Such a demand is not only unconstitutional but a threat to the unity people”, the People’s party leader added.

On the other hand, CPI-M’s tribal wing GMP also in a press meet today, slammed the Janajati Suraksha Mancha for their such demand.
