The Indigo Airline passenger named Sudir Debbarma was trying to transport 20 KG Ganja via Agartal MBB Airport and he was provided help by Indigo staff Nelson Jamatia.

Sudir Debbarma is a resident of Sidhai and Nelson lives in Abhoynagar, Agartala.

Police were informed via a secret source about the Ganja smuggling issue and reached MBB Airport to arrest both. Airport PS OC Abhijit Mandal led the Airport police officials to MBB Airport.

“As it’s an interstate smuggling matter, more involvements are expected to be revealed. We have to know who would have been waiting in Airport after Sudhir Debbarma would have landed there”, the Police Officer said.

“The seized Ganja would be worth of around Rs. 3 lakhs”, said SDPO Paramita Pandey.

“They are delivering doubtful statements. We are interrogating them thoroughly. We have CCTV footage and their mobiles for further investigation. We will produce both of them before court, seeking police remand”, said Paramita Pandey.
