KAILASHAHAR, Nov 13 (TIWN): 103 years old Padmashree Thanga Darlong’s health has recently deteriorated. As per Chief Minister Manik Saha’s order Unakoti CMO visited Darlong’s home at Muruibari village in Kailashahar. Thanga Darlong’s treatment is going on at his home. His is now under saline and no major problem could be detected in his body but tests are going on. CMO has called for a blood test after sugar test result was normal. Thanga Darlong is an Indian folk music artist, known for his contribution to the folk music of Tripura and his work in preserving & promoting the traditional instrument Rosem. He was awarded Padmashree for contribution to Rosem instrument tradition.

Before 4 years, Darlong was awarded with the Padmashree award.
