AGARTALA, January 27 (TIWN): Tripura cabinet today approved the amendment of Tripura Excise and Custom Act 1990 with the announcement of at least 388 new posts under the Tripura fire Service department and promotion of the Group c teachers and assistant professors to Gazette holder.

Speaking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat after the cabinet meeting today Minister Bhanulal Saha said that the Tripura govt. has approved the amendment of Tripura Excise and Custom Act 1990 today.

The state govt. has also approved the recruitment of at least 388 firemen under the state fire service department. Out of 388, 70 firemen will be recruited under Scheduled Caste (SC), 133 under Scheduled Tribe (ST) and rest 185 under General category, said Minister Bhanulal Saha. He further added that the cabinet meeting held earlier this morning has also approved recruitment of at least 40 super visors under SC, ST, OBC and Minority Corporation.

The cabinet meeting today also decided to promote the Group C Assistant Professor of Polytechnic College and other teachers under Gazatted post, said Saha.

However, Minister Bhhanulal Saha said that the cabinet meeting today also decided to extend the tenure of Engineer in Chief (PWD, Roads and Buildings) Sunil Bhowmik to another 1 year.
