AGARTALA, Oct 22 (TIWN): To mark the Maha-Ashtami puja, which is considered as the most important day for Durga puja, devotees rushed to Agartala Durga Bari temple. Across Tripura, prayers were offered to Goddess Durga on Maha-Ashtami puja. Apart from Durga temples, in pandals, houses thousands of puja were organized this year. People woke up in early morning to attend the ‘anjali’ ritual of the Maha-Ashtami. In Agartala Durga Bari, thousands of people gathered to worship Devi Durga. In other subdivisions in Durga and Kali temples, the puja was observed. Ashtami puja also adds a ritual of ‘Kumari Puja’ that was observed in various temples.
