AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): Every year centering Durga puja, elderly people remain tortured due to high volume of music even after mid-night, but Pollution Control Board officers are in deep sleep, failing to stay responsible to the population.

Some clubs reduce the volume after 11 pm but why there is no complete stop in uses of music players after 10 PM ?

Pollution control board in 2022, miserably failed to control noise pollution in Tripura, but in West Bengal, the rules have been strictly followed.

Many elderly people alleged that they could not sleep on Durga puja days and even after Durga puja due to sound boxes, which affected their health.

There is another problem centering the Durga puja that is “donation collection”. Tripura Govt is silent over extortion of clubs and harassment of common men. The demand for Durga puja donation is more than double that State Govt’s bonus amount paid to its employees.
