AGARTALA, Sept 29 (TIWN): Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath held a press meet. While talking about Power consumption in Durga Puja, Nath said that the peak demand of Power in 2021’s Durga Puja was in Saptami as 327 Megawatt was consumed, 332 Megawatt was the highest demand in 2022’s Panchami and 362 Mega Watt was consumed in 2023’s 7th June. He also said that it is predicted that it will rain for a day or two, and despite rain the temperature will not decrease so it is predicted 380 Mega watt is needed in this Puja. 300.30 Mega Watt’s stock is available and the remaining 80 Mega watts will be managed by purchasing or by supplying less Power in Bangladesh during Puja, said Nath.
Nath asked those the clubs where huge gathering happens in Durga Puja should keep alternative Generator arrangements.
