AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Amid ‘rift’ prevails in Tripura BJP between CM Manik Saha and ex-CM Biplab Deb’s team, Manik Saha’s supporters reminded people about his transparent ruling style and equal treatment method of operation regardless cast and religion. While celebrating in Agartala, BJP Juba Morcha leader Tarun Dasgupta said, “CPI-M, Congress have exposed before masses now. Their popularity is gone. With the massive defeat it has been proven as far as Manik Saha will continue as the Chief Minister of Tripura, BJP will be achieving significant victories like this. Our candidates have received massive votes and that happened because public are overwhelmed by the ruling style of CM Manik Saha”. Celebration in BJP party offices has kicked off as BJP has won both the Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly seats in Tripura.
The election was held on September 5. Earlier, BJP was holding 1 seat and now BJP got one more seat in the assembly, totally two seats’ addition to the state Assembly, in a major relief for the party’s strength in the Assembly under Chief Minister Manik Saha’s rule.
After this win, its total number of seats in the Tripura assembly is 33.
BJP's Tafajjal Hossain won the Boxanagar seat and Bindu Debnath bagged the Dhanpur seat.
This win was crucial for BJP breaking the stereotype of anti-Musilm tagmark allegation against the party as both Boxanagar and Dhanpur seats are hugely Muslim and ST populated.
