AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Rewarding an embarrassing defeat to opposition parties in Tripura, BJP has marked a massive victory in Tripura Bypoll’s both seats : Dhanpur and Boxanagar. Celebration in BJP party offices has kicked off as BJP has won both the Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly seats in Tripura. The election was held on September 5. Earlier, BJP was holding 1 seat and now BJP got one more seat in the assembly, totally two seats’ addition to the state Assembly, in a major relief for the party’s strength in the Assembly under Chief Minister Manik Saha’s rule.
After this win, its total number of seats in the Tripura assembly is 33.

This win was crucial for BJP breaking the stereotype of anti-Musilm tagmark allegation against the party as both Boxanagar and Dhanpur seats are hugely Muslim and ST populated.
