AGARTALA, Sep 7 (TIWN): First Tripura High Court and then Supreme Court, it was ordered that Tripura Govt should clear the pending arrears of employees at Jute Mill. Over 1500 Jute Mill Employees and Pensioners are now deprive of the arrears. In a press meet, Jute Mill employees / pensioners regardless of any union / association joined hands under a Joint Movement Committee seeking their arrears. Addressing media at Agartala Press Club, Jute Mill employees said, that in 2016, October 25 Supreme Court had given 4 months time to clear the arrears but till now no action has been taken.
Moreover, the Govt is paying around 6 lawyers at Supreme Court to reverse the order that was given earlier on the arrears clearing issue.
BJP before 2018 Election promised all Govt employees/ pensioners that their pending arrears would be cleared, they would be given 7th Pay Commission (like Central pay scale), and irregular employees will be regularized but now the employees' section has remained resented by the Govt for its 180 degree turn from the given promise.
