AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has exposed Billal Mia’s intention behind joining BJP after the ex-Congress leader Billal Mia after joining BJP claimed deprivation by Congress for years to people. Sudip Roy Barman was addressing a joining rally of Congress in Sonamura and said, “I do not want to take his name because, he (Billal Mia) is not so tall figure to be mentioned. But still as he claimed many thing, let me tell you the real reason behind his joining in BJP”.
“Even few days before joining in BJP, he used to call Asish Saha, the party president and us many times requesting us for tickets. We told him, we fought in the seat jointly with CPI-M and CPI-M candidate has died. How can we give candidate there? But when still he insisted, we offered him to stand in poll from Congress. He did not agree because he wanted the aligned post. And, we told him clearly do whatever you want but that’s not possible. This has led him to join BJP as he left with no other option”, said Sudip Barman.

Billal Mia joined BJP before 2 weeks ahead of by-polls in Tripura’s two constituencies : Dhanpur and Boxanagar. Congress party also had expelled Billal Mia from the party.
