AGARTALA, Sep 3 (TIWN): There is a huge issue going on inside Tripura Badminton Association and alleged biasedness in player selection.

In a press meet, friction Association members said, they already lodged FIR against Association Secretary Sanjib Saha for not maintaining transparency either in registration or in player selection.

“I was one of the founding members of Tripura Badminton Association. In 1973 the last registration was done and here is the paper (he displayed the paper). After that no paper work was maintained. Here you can see the names of the founding members Manik Saha, Ratan Saha”, one of the members of the Association said.

A woman team leader said, “We are unable to send our teams as there is a rift in player selection. He (Sanjib Saha) appointing such players who were not even seen in last many years on field. As a result, deserving candidates are suffering. Back in 2018, I still can remember, I was sent with an under-19 team to Bhubaneswar but when we reached there, the organizers told us that we were sent two days back. No food, no accommodation were given to our players for two days. I faced the whole situation”.

“We did national meet 11 months backs and we had to spend over 15,000 rupees each for that. Till now, even the certificate was not given”, said the woman team coach.
