The driver has been identified as Shyamal Dey, who was driving his tomtom like everyday in Agartala.

Suddenly a man started scolding him saying, he has violated the law. He introduced himself as a police officer and said, he is seizing the vehicle and to release it from AD Nagar PS. When the driver begged, the fake police sought Rs. 5000 from him. Then Syamal Dey rushed to home to bring the money but found the two persons left the area and his tomtom was also disappeared.

The victim has lodged FIR at West Agartala PS.
