AGARTALA, Aug 12 (TIWN): Reacting to the possible opposition alliance in the upcoming bypolls, Tipra Motha party leader, opposition leader of the Assembly Animesh Debbarma said, “Poll results should be according to the voters’ demand. In the last Assembly poll it was seen that public’s mandate could not come out as even after getting less than 40% votes by BJP, it won because of Opposition vote divisions. On the other hand, opposition got over 60% votes but due to vote divisions, BJP won. It should not be repeated. However, the ultimate decision will be taken by Tipra Motha party”.
Today, a meeting was conducted among CPI-M, Congress, Tipra Motha leaders.
After the meeting, Congress State President Asish Saha said that in the meeting it was decided that the parties will fight together against the BJP targeting a guaranteed defeat of the BJP.
In Tripura’s Boxanagar and Dhanpur seats, Bypoll to be held on September 5.
