Kailasahar, January 26 (TIWN): Along with the entire country, Republic Day was observed followed by different programmes at Kailasahar sub division in Tripura here today.

As part of the programmes, the main observance of R-Day in Kailasahar took place at the local college ground in a befitting manner.

Education minister Tapan Chakraborty hosted the National Flag in presence of many other dignitaries.

Addressing the R-Day gathering, Chakraborty criticized the various anti-public policies of Central Government and explained different initiatives of state government for the welfare of the people of state.

During the programme, students of different schools and colleges performed patriotic songs and dances in presence of a vast number of people.

Besides, police TSR, cadres of NCC and volunteers of National Service Scheme (NSS) bade Guard of Honour to the Education Minister. After that, the Minister observed Kuchkawaj (parade) in the college ground.

At the end of the programme, Minister Tapan Chakraborty distributed awards among the winning participants of parade.

Similarly, the Republic Day was also observed by the Unokoti district Congress with full dignity. President of Unokoti District Congress- Md. Badarujjaman hosted the National Flag while many other Congress leaders and workers attended the programme accordingly.
