AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): Another incident of negligence was reported in GB Hospital and this time allegation of negligence raised against Blood Bank. On Thursday, GB Hospital’s Central Road Blood Bank allegedly gave wrong blood to a patient party but later when Doctor saw that, he immediately sent the patient party to change the blood immediately. As a result, patient party was harassed unnecessarily. Talking with the kid’s mother, she told media, “Due to Thalassemia my son Rohal Pal needs blood every month and this time also, I brought him, but the blood bank gave me wrong blood”.
Then the blood bank employee tried to stop her from talking to media claiming ‘no wrong blood was given’, but she protested saying, ‘It’s 350 ml blood and also Karuna Pal’s blood and my son's name is Rohan Pal. Later, Sir (Doctor) asked me to change the blood’.
This incident created panic in the hospital area.
Blood Bank claimed that the Blood Group is same though the requisition was 100 ml and it’s 350 ml.
