AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): After a visit to Kumarghat, CPI-M has released its statement over the entire issue through a press conference. However, Tripura Govt yet to release its report over the incident that killed 7 people in Kumarghat on the last day of Rath due to electrocution. Former CM Manik Sarkar while addressing media said that Govt should provide Govt Jobs to each of the victim family. As per CPI-M’s statement ISKCON Rath organizers had violated the route and made the Rath’s height too much. Manik Sarkar also said, Power Dept alleged that the organizers do not like their involvement in such programs and that’s why the organizers never talk to Power Dept before such processing. Police dept also sounded same and told the opposition leaders how the organizers violated the permitted route.
Sarkar said, “Not only Rath but various programs are organized in this state where during procession such incident may happen. That should be stopped by regulating rules and compulsory inclusion of PWD, Power, Police and local administration in such programs”.
Manik Sarkar’s statement came after he visited Kumarghat on Friday and talked to victims, police, officials and also ISKCON members.
CPI-M demanded a proper investigation into this incident.
